Day 3

hey everyone.  this is day 3.  today was a high of about 33 degrees and everyone around here was complaining on how cold it was.  i was complaining on how cold it was in our room, it was still cold today.  we finally got a couple of heaters which are helping a bunch.  today we started out by having out first class.  we learned about what we will be doing in the class and got a schedual. we have several tours of many things.  we also got a tube (subway)  pass so we don't have to pay for that.  then we just came back here to the room and got some lunch and sat around.  then at 2 this afternoon we had a tour of the local areas again.  we got to the local college, The Imperial College.  the we got to see the royal garden with a huge statue of Prince Albert, he married Queen Victoria who ruled from 1837 until her death in 1901.   (the big stutue that looks like the top of a church, should be top right picture)  After that we walked to the Kensington Palace where the queen lives and where princess Diana lived and most of the royal family.  (Top right picture.  there privet living quarters are just off the left side of the pictue.  This is a picture from the back side of the palace i think)  after that we found out where there was more shoping places and then came back the room.  a little while later, a few of us went shopping for a little while but we had to come back so we could make it to our supper that was provided for us tonight.  We went to pub just around the corner called (something).  It was really good.  I had beer battered haddock with "fries" (patato wedges)   and a side salid and then had some cheese and grapes for dessert.  My bill would have casted me over 20 pounds but it was free for us.  the total bill was like 240 pounds for the nine of us.  i will say supper was very good.  after supper we came back and just relaxed and a few people went out to go clubing,  who knows when they will be back tonight.  that was my third day.

The rest of the pictures.   The second to the top is our room for the next few weeks.  that is look in from the door.  my bed is on the left, that is Zeb sitting with his back to me.  just to the right of Zeb there is a bunk bed, the mini fridge and more closets.  the door on the right of the picture leads to our bathroom.  the big white thing in the middle is what is keeping our room warm right now.  

The next picture is of Piccadilly Circus,  that is one huge tv screen basicly with addvertizing flashing on it.  there are a lot of shops and places to eat around there.  it is a really busy place.  

The next picture is of lights that are hanging out one of the streets.  there was like 8 blocks worth of these lights.  

The picture of a bunk bed is our hostel from the first night.  it was cheap.  

The last picture is from the stair steps of our housing,  looking down the street.  it is a very rich area.  to live in one of the flats in the building,  which there are, i think, 4 flats per building (one per floor)  is over a million pounds (which right now would be $145,000,000) so yeah it is a very fancy area.  Also you can see the cars that are around here.  they are all really small,  and in this neighborhood there are some really fancy cars too,  like porsche and ferrari, really spendy.  

Well that is most everything for now.  love everyone at home.  i am going to bed.
